Diffusion measurement
High-precision diffusion measurements under in-situ conditions
We have developed advanced experimental setups to determine effective gas-gas and gas-liquid diffusion coefficients under realistic reservoir conditions. To ensure the highest possible relevance to subsurface systems, measurements are performed on actual rock samples, allowing diffusion processes to be studied under authentic conditions.
Our experimental setup enables precise measurements at temperatures up to 120°C and pressures up to 300 bar, making it ideally suited for simulating deep geological conditions.
Even extremely low diffusion coefficients—such as those found in caprocks—can be reliably measured using our methodology. This capability is particularly valuable for assessing sealing performance, long-term safety, and other key issues in a geoscientific context.
