During fluid transport in pipelines, interaction with the pipe materials has to be taken into account. In case of polymer pipes, gas may permeate leading to losses and material fatigue. Corrosion of steel pipes depends on water content, wetting and pH under tansport conditions. Fundamental investigation on gas diffusion in polymers, change of pH in sour gas atmosphere, especially in presence of CO2, and wetting at elevated pressures is carried out.
