New university professor at the institute: Dr. Philip Jaeger

Dr. Philip Jaeger is the new university professor at the TU Clausthal for the chair of „Petroleum Production Systems". He leads the department at the Institute of Subsurface Energy Systems.

Dr. Philip Jaeger studied process engineering at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), where he also completed his dissertation (1997) and habilitation (2014). He gained industrial experience during a one-year job at the Unilever Research Laboratory in Vlaardingen (Netherlands) and from 1998 in the course of the foundation of the special plant construction and planning company Eurotechnica GmbH, whose managing director he has been since 2001. This involved extensive international experience, which the oil and gas expert had on projects in America, Asia and Europe.

At the same time, Dr. Jaeger is active in academic teaching since 2004. In addition to lectures at the TU Hamburg, he gave courses in Spanish and English at universities in Spain, South and Central America, in the Arab region and in India. His research interests include phase behavior and interface phenomena in tertiary oil and natural gas production, supercritical extraction of solids and fractionation of liquids, and high-pressure adsorption.
